If you have trouble accessing the Internet or staying online, please move to a different location within the facility.

Security Considerations
Wireless access is by nature an insecure medium. Users assume all associated risks and agree to hold harmless FBC Plano and its employees for any personal information (e.g. credit card) that is compromised, or for any damage caused to users' hardware or software due to electric surges, security issues or consequences caused by viruses or hacking. All wireless access users should have up-to-date virus protection on their personal laptop computers or wireless devices.

Preschool Guidelines

General Guidelines

“Childcare” is a term used to describe activities provided at the church for babies through fifth grade while their parents are involved in extra church activities (weekday Bible studies, choir practice, Parents’ Night Out, etc.) The childcare staff considers it a privilege to care for these children. The following guidelines have been established to ensure the happiness and safety of the children.

Childcare shall be provided for church functions only and shall always be supervised by one of the regular childcare coordinators. All activities follow a Biblical curriculum.

Childcare will be provided to Sunday School departments for social/outreach functions once a quarter. Dates should be requested at least two weeks in advance. A list of names and ages of children should be turned in to the nursery coordinator at least one week prior to the event. It is also important to make cancellations as soon as possible. The money saved by not over-staffing can be used for childcare at other times. Saturday night events must end by 8:30 p.m.

Childcare will be provided beginning fifteen minutes before and ending fifteen minutes after each scheduled event at the church. For events that have been scheduled away from the church, childcare will be provided beginning thirty minutes before and ending thirty minutes after the event.
Requests for childcare for other than regularly scheduled meetings should be made to the Children’s Minister. Childcare registration will be available in the church office. Childcare can be scheduled only when care is needed for a minimum of five children.

Appropriate snacks and apple juice or water will be provided at each session.

A Child Protection Policy has been established for the safety and protection of all children during activities at the church.

Health

The nursery rooms, toys, and equipment are cleaned and disinfected after each session. Every precaution is taken to limit the spread of germs.
In order to insure a safe, healthy environment, we request that parents assume responsibility for making sure their children are well before coming to church.

Parents are encouraged to release the child to a teacher at the door. Please do not allow siblings to enter the nursery rooms. However, if you feel it is necessary to enter the room, we ask that only one parent accompany the child. To avoid congestion in the nursery area, families and friends are encouraged to wait in the elevator hallway.

Before returning to church, we request that a child be free of fever for 24 hours without medication. When in doubt, please apply the golden rule.
Children who appear ill while in the nursery will be isolated and the parents will be called.
If your child does contract a childhood disease following a session in the preschool division, please inform the Preschool Ministries Director so that other parents may be notified.

There will be a first aid kit available for use at all times; however, neither teachers nor employees shall give medication to any child in the preschool area.

In accordance with recommendations from the Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child should not be taken away from home when any of the following symptoms exist:
1. Fever (99º and above)
2. Vomiting and diarrhea
3. Any symptom of usual childhood diseases, i.e. scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox
4. Common cold, from onset through one week
5. Sore throat
6. Croup
7. Pink eye and other eye infections
8. Green or yellow runny nose discharge
9. Any unexplained rash
10. Any skin infection, such as boils, ringworm, impetigo, etc.

Allergy Alert signs will be placed outside the room and Allergy Alert stickers available for each child.
