From the Pastor: 2010-October 3

Let the Word of Christ
dwell in you richly
as you teach and admonish one another
with all wisdom, and as you
sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs
with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father
through Him.
(Colossians 3:16-17)

This evening we gather for “A Night of Praise” to bring honor and glory to God as we give ourselves to Him in the act of worship. What can you expect? Jack W. Hayford has penned these words, which I think perfectly portray our purpose for this evening’s experience of worship:

“All sensitive souls know that high praise is more than noise, and that joyous worship is more than foot-tapping. So, expect to find depth and dimension here - a richness in content that bypasses the superficial, and moves toward the significant. These spiritual resources are designed to bring all who want to worship God toward a genuine entry into His presence - to bow before our awesome, living and loving Father!”

“He is the Founder of our Song, so it’s to Him we come!

His Son is the Foundation of our Song, so it’s Him we praise!

His Spirit is the Fountain of our Song, so we drink of Him!”

Let’s open our hearts to the Word of Christ tonight - to the glory of God.

I’m proud to be your pastor,

Jerry
