Last week, I shared the first verse and chorus of Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Let Us Pray.” Are you ready for the second verse?
So when we feel the Spirit moving
Prompting, prodding and behooving
There is no time to be losing, let us pray.
Let the Father hear us saying
What we need to be conveying
Even while this song is playing, let us pray.
And just because we say the word, “Amen”
It doesn’t mean this conversation needs to end!
Let us pray, let us pray—
Everywhere in every way, every moment of the day,
It is the right time.
Let us pray without end and when we finish start again.
Like breathing out and breathing in, let us pray.
Thank you for your prayers for Vacation Bible School during the past seven days—I want you to know that God worked in the lives of boys and girls and their families, drawing them toward Himself. He worked through the hearts and hands and words of loving church members who prepared and planned and prayed and put into practice the gifts God entrusted to them.
I am confident of this: there are things God wants to accomplish in your life that He will only do through your faithfulness in prayer. Need a place to start?
*Pray that God will show you the next step of obedience in your own life
*Pray for people God has placed in your life who are “apart from God’s family” using the “Welcome Home” card from our worship together
*Pray each day this month for those who are snared in Islam to come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord
*Pray for those who will hear the Gospel as we reach out in visitation tomorrow night
*Pray for those who will experience God’s love through our Community Health Fair this Saturday morning
*Pray for your Sunday School leaders who will learn to be more effective at the Engage conference next Sunday evening
What does God say about prayer?
If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV).
Lots of people are talking about prayer these days. Some people are praying. Which will you be? Let us pray!
