Our History

Written by FBC Plano Administrator. Posted in About

The roots of First Baptist Church of Plano can be traced to 1852 with the founding of Spring Creek Baptist Church, which evolved into the First Baptist Church of Plano in 1872.   We have a rich history of being a part of what God has done locally, nationally, and across the world.  This heritage of ministry continues today in a church whose focus is loving, serving, and sharing.

*Special Thank You from Ruby Noel, our volunteer librarian who celebrated 50 years of service on August 19th, 2012:

"Many thanks are in order for all the plans and preparations for the library's 50th Anniversary. A special thanks to Janet and Warner Richeson for arranging so many thoughtful details. The Anniversary brought to mind many treasured memories of years gone by. In God's timing, Jim Fineout's vision for training teachers and generosity with his office space and manual Royal typewriter with Baylor green ribbon coincided with our move into Plano. Beginning with a three shelf bookshelf, a handful of books, and a generous membership, the library was on its way to over 7,000 entries. Thanks for all the many ways you have supported the work of the library." - Ruby Noel
