Sunday Morning Worship

Written by FBC Plano Administrator. Posted in About

You'll hear lots of singing in our services, whether you decide to come to our traditional or contemporary worship service. Our Contemporary worship service starts at 11:00am and is located in the Berry Building, on the East side of the church. In the contemporary service we have a worship band led by Steve Arbanas, and they play a variety of worship songs including "How Great is Our God", "Everlasting God", "10,000 Reasons", and "Revelation Song". The service is laid back, worshipful, and most people are dressed casually. It usually lasts about an hour, and people generally linger for a few minutes after the service to hang out and catch up. We have coffee in the walkway outside in case you need a morning pick-me-up!

Our traditional worship service starts at 8:30am and is located in the Sanctuary. Just like the contemporary service, there is plenty of music and singing, only the traditional service uses hymns, orchestra, and choir instead of a contemporary band. Steven Braucht, our Minister of Music, leads the service, and just like with the contemporary service, our Pastor, Dr. Jerry Carlisle, gives a sermon from the Biblical text we are studying that week. People usually dress up more for the traditional service, and like the contemporary service, it usually lasts about an hour.

We also offer a variety of Bible Study options for children, youth, college, singles, and adults. You can browse the different options under the "Connect" tab at the top of the page. All Bible studies begin at 9:45am.

Hopefully you have a better sense of what to expect at First Baptist Plano! We would love for you to join with us, and we want you to know that if there is any way we can serve you or help you, please let us know! Hope to see you Sunday!
