On behalf of the church Personnel Committee, I am pleased to announce that Brenda Boyd has accepted the role of Interim Minister to Children.  The Lord has provided a very capable leader from within our congregation to grow our ministry with children and their families forward during the period of time necessary to discover His will for our permanent Minister to Children.

Brenda has served wonderfully as Director of our Mothers’ Day Out ministry for the past four years.  She and Steven, her husband, joined the FBCP family in 2007.  Their children, Katelyn, Harris, and Hannah are integrally involved in our church.  Brenda’s passion for reaching boys and girls comes from her love for the Lord, for our church, and for her own children.  I’m glad she’s on board!  Thank the Lord—He provides.

I also want to express my appreciation to the Hospitality Ministry Team, led by Tammy Landers and Lisa Gorman, for the delightful church-wide reception honoring Debbie Parker last Sunday evening.  Along with team members Nancy Brown, Nancy Boyd, Karen McDonald, and Melissa Shumate, Lisa and Tammy provided an opportunity for us to bless Debbie as she concluded her ministry with us.  Thank the Lord—He provides.

Last Sunday afternoon, many of our deacons shared the Lord’s Supper with members of our church who cannot physically attend.  Going to the homes of these precious saints, the servant/leaders we have designated as deacons opened God’s Word and celebrated the symbols of Christ’s sacrifice.  If you know of church members who would like to participate in the future, please contact the Pastor’s office and make us aware of the need.

Thank the Lord—He provides.

As you make your way home today from our church campus, be sure to survey the church’s Community Garden.  Not only are green plants flourishing, but the newly mulched paths invite us to wander through and marvel at what can happen at this time of year.   Harvesting vegetables to be shared with hungry people in our community has already begun!  Thank the Lord for the Garden Ministry Team, led by Weldon Fincher.  Planting seed, cultivating, and nurturing all precede the harvest.  Thank the Lord—He provides.

The Lord provides—and He works through people who are yielded to Him and willing to work with others to accomplish His purpose.  Planting the seed of God’s Word, cultivating, and nurturing all precede the harvest.  Thank the Lord—He provides and calls us to be His partners in the process.
