Thank you for your wonderful response to the 2014 Strategic Listening Survey! Your input and sense of personal spiritual growth, involvement in the ministries of your church, and sense of God’s direction for the future are deeply appreciated. There were 252 members of our congregation who participated in the survey. In coming days, your Church Council, made up of those who have been designated by the church through call and election to lead in strategic planning, will begin the process of understanding the multitude of responses. The survey results will chart the spiritual maturity and ministry involvement of our membership. We trust the information will give a sense of direction and purpose as we seek to fulfill our mission together.
Do you remember Reddy Kilowatt? No, he wasn’t that odd kid in your kindergarten class—or the lead singer for The Clash. “Reddy” was the logo/spokesman for the electric company; think of a stick-figure forerunner for the green gecko who sells insurance (and is actually an anole). He seemed to be comprised of a bolt of lightning—the message was that electricity to heat homes, shed light, and power appliances was always “ready” with the flip of a switch.
What a wonderful fellowship of faith you are! The warmth and power of worshiping together last Sunday were such an encouragement to me. Thank you for your cheerfulness in adjusting to our new Sunday morning schedule. In spite of the chill outside, the joy in our hearts made it a great day.
Once I learned I could “capture” a photo on my phone by pressing two buttons at once, I drove the rest of my family a little more “batty” one “screen-shot” at a time. The process freezes the current image so it can be examined in depth and passed along to others. Between today and February 16, our church will be capturing our current level of spiritual growth so that we can study our situation and make plans based on what we discover.
I hope you are as excited about the new Sunday morning schedule as I am. If you are not, I trust you are willing to make every effort to adjust in order to help our church be more effective in fulfilling our common mission together.
